    half-ton of potatoes from Michael Cosgrave and he brought them home in four bags each contained 2 1/2 cwt. He brought each of them on his back home a distance of 3 miles as the crow flies. He was then over 75 years of age. Mrs. Foard of Killargue Parish often carried a firkin of butter on her back from her home to Sligo market a distance of 18 miles. Those are facts that can be proven. The son of Mrs. Foard mentioned above occupied a farm not many yards from this school.
