Donkey: The sign of the Cross on the donkey's back is another sign of its blessedness.
Cattle are also considered lucky since they were in the Stable of Bethlehem the night Our Lord was born.
Dard Daoil - When Our Blessed Lady was going to Egypt with the Child Jesus she passed a field where a man and his wife were sowing wheat. The wheat grew up and was ripe for cutting the next morning. When Herod came along next day in search of the Child he enquired from the man if he had seen anybody passing the way. The man said he had seen nobody passing since the day he sowed the wheat. The Dard Daoil said the wheat had been sown only the previous day. Our Lord cursed the Dard Daoil and said that anybody who saw it again should burn it.
