  1. My father was going home from my uncle's house one night about Xmas time. "Oidhche Coille" it was and he remained until twelve o' clock. The night was a dark as pitch when he was leaving. He had no light and was obliged to walk to the cross roads about half a mile away.
    All at once a bright light shone round him as if a motor car was coming along. He looked back but could not see a car. He jumped on his bicycle and the kindly light led him on to within a few yards of his own home and then dis-appeared.
    He was not a bit afraid then but next day
