  1. Long ago the people used to make their own blankets and quilts. The way they made the blankets was as follows:- They used to weave them and when they would have them made they would be thin.
    Then the people would get a tub of water and put lots of soap in it and make a good lather and put the blankets into it and take off their boots and get in on top of them and tramp them and then they would be thick.
    The people used to knit quilts. First the used to knit squares and sew them together.
    Another way they used to make quilts was to get little pieces and sew them together and line the quilts with linen or
