  1. The Leslies were a family of Scotch people, and all of them had the Scotch accent. The head of the family was a man about five feet high and he was about sixty years of age and he came to Abbeydorney. He had five daughters and one son, and the most of them were married, and they were a delicate family and when they were grown or middle aged most of them died.
    When they would be talking to a person he could not understand them at all not by any chance. Old Leslie was a very funny man but he was not a rough man. When the boys were going to school he used to take their caps off them and their sods of turf from them and maybe in
