  1. Here comes the telegraph boy. Wait, he is hurrying towards our house. My father is very perplexed and my mother is sad-looking. What is the matter? I know. My father has a twenty pounds bill to pay in debt to a shopkeeper and has been ordered to pay it within three days. All I can say is that we have to bear with it. Then my mother ordered me to ready the supper. What's that? Oh, I have a cup broke. My mother got so vexed that she ordered me off to bed. There and then I had to go without a supper. That or else get a good flogging. So I am as well to try and sleep now.
