  1. There is a fort about a quarter of a mile from our house and there is a ring of stones all around it and briars growing inside the fort. This fort is South of our house. A man called James Hoban took most of the stones that were around the fort and brought them to his own house to build a cart-shed. But shortly after taking the stones his son got unwell, and the cart house was never built. The stones are still there in a heap a bit above the house.
