“Once upon a time there lived two women. They were neighbours.”
Once upon a time there lived two women. They were neighbours. One day they began to quarrel and one killed the other. When she had her killed she took her out and buried her under a pile of timber. When she had her buried she went away wandering until she came to a house. She asked the woman of the house to give her lodgings for the night. The people of the house were to have a priests station the next day, and they did not like to refuse her. When the man was gone visiting that night the old woman told the woman of the house that she killed a woman and she was very sorry. She also said "May God judge all this". They went to bed, and when the old woman tried to get up the next morning she was not able because she was dying(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
