Ans= He fills the three gallon cask first and throws it into the five gallon cask. He then fills the three gallon cask and throws two gallons into the five gallon cask. He turns the five gallons into the eight gallon cask and the one gallon that is in the three gallon cask he turns it into the five gallon cask. Then he fills the three gallon cask (gallon) and turns it into the five gallon cask. Then he has four gallons in the five gallon cask.
