As the Winter winds blew wildly on a cold December night . . .

    (continued from previous page)
to see the mother of the brave
As her two darling sons were laid to rest
neath the bosom of the grave
    IX
Those bodies nursed with tender care now
    deep beneath their God
Their spirits fought to fight their foes
    flies freely before their God
In the graveyard of Shan Auglish those
    two young heroes lie
They shed their blood for Ireland and
they died for you and I
    X
They laid down all on earth they had,
    suffered all those pains
To strike for you another blow to break
    those foreign chains
If you be true to England obeying her
    precious laws
To agony our Irish martyrs who perished
    for the cause
Let those words ring in your ears let them echo o'er the main
To let them see that those precious men
    were not sacrificed in vain.
