    About eighty years ago there were two brothers living in Curragh named Pat and Martin Madden. Pat was trying to put Martin away. He tried several times but failed. One day Pat was very vexed and was going to kill Martin, but he thought of a plan.
    When Martin was gone to bed, and before he went to sleep, he asked Pat why he was'ent going to bed but he said I am raking the fire, and when Pat saw Martin asleep he got two fistfulls of sand, and throw it into Martin's ears.
    In the morning when he woke, he began screaching and roaring, then he went to Pat's bedroom, and he nearly choked Pat, the woke him, and Pat said he was cracked and he sent for a car to take him to Ballinasloe asylum.
    Pat went in as far as the asylum and when he was nearly half way
