Long ago there lived a young couple who were very poor, but whenever a beggar passed their way they always shared their humble fare with him and made him welcome to a seat at the fire. One night a feeble old woman called and they treated her as hospitably as they could, and made a bed for her beside the fire. When she was leaving she gave them her blessing, and foretold them that one day the world would wonder at their riches.
Time passed and things were going from bad to worse. One morning the man went out to milk his one cow and imagine(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
