  2. Molahiffe Hedge School was situated in the townland of Molahiffe. A man by the name of Denis McGillicuddy was the teacher. He was living in Molahiffe and was also born there. His pupils paid him by giving him potatoes and butter. They did their writing with slate. Irish was taught in the school.
