  1. Fairy Story
    There lived in my district long ago a man named Beirne. This man was very poor and had only one cow. He had to pay heavy taxes that year, and when the taxgatherer came, he had not one penny, so he determined to sell his cow to pay it.
    On his way to the fair he had to pass by a fairy fort not far from my house. As he was passing it, he was suddently stopped and out of it came a little red man. The little red man asked him, where was he going to, and he said he was going to the fair to sell his cow, to pay the tax. The little red man asked him would he sell the cow to him and that he would give him a bottle for her.
    Then Beirne asked, what use was the bottle to him and the fairy man said, to go home, put the bottle on the table and ask off it anything he wanted. This was a magical bottle.
    Beirne returned back. He put the bottle on the table and three men jumped out of the bottle. "What would you like" they asked and Beirne said he would like a bag of gold.
    He got the gold then, and the three men went
