    Besides grinding corn in the homes there were three mills in this parish in which corn was ground. One near St Joseph's Blessed Well, one in Kildimo and a man named Seáinín Shannon owned it and one in Áth na gCaorach. Seáinín Shannon had the best mill.
    The flour was not bought in half bags like the present day only in pounds and in stones.
    The bread used be baked on griddle stand which is put under the griddle to raise it off the ground. Most people make a cross on the top of the loaves so that the crust would not raise up off it.
