- Here are some of the customs of long ago. When the carriage or motor car is leaving in which the Bride is sitting an old boot shoe or horse-shoe is tied to the back of the carriage. This is supposed to bring luck on the married pair.
Another custom I have heard of is:- The night of the wedding neighbours and friends are invited and a big dance would be held outside in the barn and all kinds of refreshments are given.

Another custom is:- When marriages were held long ago, a great feast used to be giving to the workmen of the house. In this certain house this custom was preformed, and one man who ate too much and so he began to burst.
