had this dug they brought all the clay and stuff away in carts so that not a trace of the clay was to be seen around the trench. They then covered the trench oven with light sally twigs and placed some gravel and stones over it so that it looked like a road. The landlord has tried to get the people out of this house but couldn't as they has barred up the door and windows and locked themselves inside. So he tould them that he would bring the batterin' ram and knock down the house so they had prepared for it. The battering ram came along with the big stick in front of it to burst in the door and at every side of it there were plenty of police and bailifs ready to rush into the house and fire out its belongings. Up comes the battering ram slowly up to to the kitchen door but coming to the trench it tumbles head over heels into it and couldn't be got out.
