    The following is an inscription on the back of a tombstone in Kilcarn Graveyard....

    The following is an inscription on the back of a tombstone in Kilcavan graveyard and is said to be there about one hundred and fifty years. The inscription on the front of the tombstone cannot be read as it is covered by the grave in front but Larkin is the name of the man that is on it.

    Upon these lines here given
    On the torturig pains of hell
    And joys of heaven
    One you have to chuse
    Therefore take care
    What steps you take
    And how you are to fare
    Therefore prepare for heaven
    While here below
    To shun a long eternity of woe
