    horns started blowing again and this time they seemed to be right at me so says I to meself there must be somebody near hand and I'll wait a while to see who it is. I waited for a long time and the curious thing about it was that neither sound or break of wind could I hear. So a kind of nervousness came over me and I knew that there was something strange about the damn thing and what was more I had to pass by a fairy rath and I was always a bit shy passing by this but this made me twice as bad. I buttoned up my coat anyhow and started for home and as I was passing by the rath I hear music as if fiddles were playing but something nicer than fiddles I passed by anyhow at a fairly fast pace and at the same time glancing over my shoulder at the rath. I went on anyhow and an looked around again and there I saw two lovely girls coming after me and I thought for the moment that they were girls from around the place so, says I, to meself I'll pull in here now and give them a fight. So I pulled in at a [?] in the ditch and I waited for them but although I
