    Multiply the given equation by 4 times the coefficient of the highest power, then add the square of the coefficient of the next highest power to each side of the equation and it will make that side which contains the unknown quantity a Complete Square: lastly extract the square root on each side, then transpose the known part of the root, and divide the result by the coefficient of the unknown term.
