    wheel. gathered all the guns into her petticoat and left the house with her burdeon.
    On her husband's return from work he missed the guns. and questioned her regarding their disappearance.
    "Oh!" says she with a nod of her head_ "They're now, where you or any other person will not find them. I carried them down to the river and fired them into the "Hole of the Big Pike". (In Irish) A spot in the Bookalo River where very large pikes were found. At another time she would say. . "I threw them in the bog" etc _
    She could ^not be induced either by threats or persuasion tell where she dumped the guns.
    The Fenians being aware of her decided views and strong personality bore no ill will towards her _
    The Fenians collected at night to drill in a field near the river
