- In the vicinity of Murrisk there is a holy well and people come from all over the county to visit this well. It is called St. Patrick’s well and people make “arounds” it. There are two fishes in this well and they can never be caught because St. Patrick blessed them.
There is also a well below Balla town and it is called St. Kieran’s well. Long ago people came from Co. Galway so that their stock would thrive.- Collector
