- There are some herbs that grow in good land such as the dock leaf and more that grow in bad land such as "foal foot" and the "sharlock". There is another herb that grows in bad land that is poison for cattle to eat, and that is the reason why some farmers put a goat with cattle because the goat will eat the herb and it will not harm him.Some herbs are used as cures at the present time such as "bouglas" for boils.
