    The potatoes are picked by the children of the house. They place them in buckets and then put them in pits made by the farmer.
    They are however always careful to separate the large ones from the small ones. This is done so that the small ones may be given to the farm animals and the poultry, and the large ones are used for the table or sold at the market.
    The most common potatoes used are Arran Banners, Champions, Epicures, Arran Victors, Irish Queens and Flounders.
