    to Ballyvary to where there was a tannery. When the leather was made the shoemakers made the shoes. These are some of the shoemakers that were in my district long ago. John Ruane, Johnny Brennan, and Micky Gill The shoemakers would not work on Monday but they spent this day in getting the leather because they thought that this day was an unlucky day for shoemaking.
