    from certain herbs to cure the horrible disease of Cancer.
    Tradition tells us that Cancer caused terrible ravages long ago in the districts around Kiltimagh. Davy did a thriving business with his cure plasters. If he had lived our own day, he possibly would have earned first prize as cancer curer and probably would have been esteemed and honoured as [?] of a cure for that dread human scourge.
    The ruins of Davy's hovel are still to be seen in the side of the road below Rathslevin gate.
