    This "quack" doctor strongly recommended a system of bleeding as a cure for certain human diseases, and syrup compound for others.
    Barrett was an expert at bleeding sick persons and had a good practise for people affected with throat trouble or Stomach disorders, head-ache back-ache or liver. He recommended to these his syrup-compound which he never prepared until specially ordered.
