- The name of my home district is Keenagh. It is in the parish of Crossmolina and in the Barony of Tyrawley.
There are twenty-seven families living in it and it has a population of about one hundred and sixty.
The most common family names are Gilroy and Clarke.
The majority of the houses are small one-storied houses with thatched roofs.
Caonaċ means "moss". The land is mossy and this must be the reason why it is so called. Caonaċ also means a sloping field, there is a gentle slope in the land from one end of the village to the other and that is another reason why it(continues on next page)- Collector
