- Local IndustriesCandles were made from rushes. These were peeled, left up for a week and then dipped in grease.Resin was from dale, and a bit of cloth made candles.Flax was grown in Ruane bog and made into linen. Some of this linen is still in the parish.Alder and Bog-black made freize.Weaving was carried on in Eyrecourt up to 30 years ago. People came from miles around to have freize and linen woven.There were "Nailers" also in the village and tin smiths.
