- Severe Weather At Creevelea about ninty eight years ago there was a terrible cloud bust. It dug up two acres of land. No grass grew in that place since. All the rivers and lakes over flowed their banks. The flood swept away three bridges and one out house at Creevelea. There fell no rain in any other place in the neighborhood. The people above the lake were astonished to see it.There was a man moving and when he saw the flood he left down the scythe. There were eleven feet of sand on top of it when he got it again. All the land around was covered with sand.In the year eighteen hundred and thirty nine there was a great windstorm. Houses were tossed and people killed it is said that houses are built at the foot of the hills since.
