Every Palm sunday a branck of palm is left on the byre. people believe that it keeps away disease from the cattle. The palm is blessed before it is put up in the byre. This is done in honour of Our Lord. It was an old custom to put copper or silver in the bottom of the can when milking a heifer for her first time after her first calf.
A man named Mr Gourty from Drumkeeran had a famous race horse. No horse was ever known to keep up to him. This horse was known in every district as being a famous racing horse.
