- The old people have many prayers that they learned at home, and were not taught in school or learned from a book. Among these are,
"Holy Mary, Queen of Charity. Pray for me that I may never die in mortal sin. This pryer was generally repeated when going to bed at night."
There is another prayer which is said after the Rosary at night. It is as follows,
"O Merciful Jesus have mercy on me
"My soul and my body I resign until thee,
Five bleeding wounds were nailed to a tree."
"O Merciful Jesus have pitty on me."
Another prayer the people used say when going to bed at night is,
"When I go to my bed I go to my grave,
Lord Jesus Christ bring my soul to receive,
Jesus the Flower and mary the Leaf,
Be with me at my last dying hour."
The old people used say this prayer at night.
"As I lie down upon this bed,
I pray to God to be my guide,
