    It being on th 2nd April in the year of '78,
    I hope the youths of Ireland, shall keep memory of the date,
    His landlord said that morning
    "Come put the horses to,"
    Not fearing that, an untimely end so
    long to him was due,
    "My lord I feal most terrified".

    My heart it has foretold we'll meet
    Rory on the way,
    And if by chance we'll meet with him,
    no longer we'll survive,
    Bad landlords in particular he won't
