    in some far off town and later made them at home. Clogs are worn and made locally up to the present day; they are made by handy men such as carpenters and farmers. Leather was not known to be made in this district for clogs or shoes. The leather used by the shoemaker that is steeped in water is good for a horse with a sore breast, that the harness would strip under a saddle or collar.
