  2. It is supposed to be unlucky to get married on Mondays or Thursdays and during Lent. Matches are made in this district still. The boy goes to the girl's house to settle the marriage with her parents. They have to sign papers nowadays so that there would be no mistake about the marriage.
    Long ago the people used to have marriage processions on horses and the bride would sit behind her husband. It was also the custom for "Straw boys" to go to the house where a wedding was held. They were dressed in straw so that the people of the house
