    In the townland of Ardkeerin
    there is a portion of land called the
    "Half-quarter". How it got its name is
    because it is one eight of the town-
    land of Ardkeerin.
    Ardkeerin got its name by the
    berries that used to grow on the
    mountain ash trees which grew there
