    and church there. In the monastery there was a company of monks. Around it there was very rich land on which the monks kept sheep and these sheep when killed yielded very nice mutton, which the monks had for their own use.
    One day a young man named Dodd came to visit the monks and he inquired how they had such good sheep. Their reply was that the land was rich When he was leaving the monks invited him to dinner on the morrow. He came as he promised and when the dinner was served he was amazed at the beautiful flavour of the mutton, but he did not say so to the monks.
    When he returned home he told his father the whole story. He showed no surprise but in his heart he coveted the land and meant to get it in some way even if he had to murder. First he said he would go quietly and ask them for it and if they would not give it he would take it by force. He asked them for it, but they would not give it. next he drove them from their home and ruined their church and monastery.
