miles from Riverstown called Temple More. It is situated on a high green hill and there is a holy well not very far away from it. The monks lived there at one time
In the year 1908 near the end of October on the lands of Ardcumber there was a man shot whose name was John Stenson. he was shot for cattle-driving. The police were trying to hold the cattle and all the men of the parish were trying to bring them away. During the night at about twelve o'clock Stenson was shot in the head. He was carried to the barracks and there was High mass for him next day.
He was a native of Tubbercurry but he was working near Riverstown when he was shot. A monument was erected to his memory in the spot where he was shot.
