- The food used by our forefathers was not the same as the food used nowadays. They only took three meals a day. The first meal at eight o' clock, the second at about two o' clock and the third at about six or seven o' clock.
At the first they ate oaten bread and drank milk. The former gave them sound healthy teeth. At the rest of meals they usually partook of potatoes and butter-milk.
