- (continued from previous page)to Sligo and there was no use made of the "Red Earls Road". Hugh O Donnell left the castle and after a while the castle fell. The ruins of it are still to be seen.
- There are at least four old ruins in this locality and they are "BaldwinsCastle", "The old barrack", "Bricklieve Castle" and "Tauwagh church". When Cromwell came to Ireland he gave land in it to his followers as a repayment to them, for the money which they gave him, when he was fighting against Charles.
