  2. Another old man named William Healy also of Carnaree told me many old riddles that are used locally. The best known of these are:-
    What can pass before the sun without making a shadow?
    The wind.
    What is the beginning of every end and the end of every place?
    The letter E.
    What is that which increases the more it is shared by others?
    Happiness
    Why is necessity like a solicitor?
    It knows no law.
