    and send him to the house of the house of the girl to ask him to be his wife.
    When he entered the girls' house everybody present shook hands with him and when he made his business known if the girl was satisfied all was settled.
    The people of the house made tea for him and he produced the whiskey. The would then arrange for the betrothed couple to meet in te town on the next market day and the fortune and wedding day was decided. It was the custom to give a four-footed animal as part of the dowry for luck at that time.
    One the night before the marriage the intended bridegroom and best man stayed in the house of the bride.
