    and it was baked in this way. The griddle was supported by a fork to the back of it.
    On many occasions the people baked as much bread as would do them for a week. Other times it would be baked daily. There is often marks cut in top of the cake such as marked with a knife or the shape of an eggstand apple cakes were made for Hallow'een. Currant cakes and potato cakes were made for Christmas.
