    Clogs were worn in this district many years ago. They were also made int his district by men knonw as "Clogmakers". At this time there was a wood in "Dún Hill" and the people were cutting it down and it was there that the "Clogmakers" got the wood to make the clogs.
    There were other shoes worn also known as "brógs" They were made from untanned hide with wooden soles and a piece of iron to preserve the soles. Grown-up people that wore the "brógs"
    The shoes that children wore were called "sandals". They were made also from untanned hide withe wooden soles.
