- There is a rock in our field which is called a hollow rock. It has a hollow in the middle of it and that is the why it has the name. It is supposed to contain a pan of gold and any one that goes looking for the gold sees a little man that is there minding it. He wears a red suit and a black hat with a high top on it. Once upon a time it is said that a man named Tom Davey who lived in Ougham went digging for the gold when he went a piece he seen a hat and he gave it a blow of the spade when to his surprise a little man jumped out and ran after him.
