- There is a house in Shroof near Fauleens Monasteraden and it is haunted. The people could not live in it as they used to be pegged with clods and potatoes off the loft and the children were all either deaf or dumb or both. They left the house and no one ever lived in it since. It was said that the house was in the way of the fairies in their passage from Dubh bollagh to Mullach a t-sidhe.

“There is a house in Ardsoran by the name of Healy's and there is a hole in the side wall which can never be filled.”
There is a house in Ardsoran by the name of Healys and there is a hole in the side wall which can never be filled. No matter what stones, cement or anthing else is put in is taken out again, and [?] as big as a [man?] can lift.
The house is built on the ruin of a fort. Beside the same house at the back-door is a pool - a dirty marshy quagmire - which never dries. The fairies cess it is called.- Informant
