    remained to collect some sacred vessels and manuscripts, and his way to the mountain was barred. He mounted a horse and rode towards the strand in the meantime the trooper sighted him and gave chase.
    One of the troopers ion a very fleet horse overtook him ere he reached the beach and drawing his sword, he cut the Abbots head and arm off with a blow.
    The other monks returned after some time and continued to say Mass and minister to the people in spite of the cruel laws of that time.
    The Mass Rock can be seen at the present day by anyone who visits the Churchyard. it lies on the slopes of Tonevane mountains about two miles from the main road to Tralee
