    Local Marriages.
Marriages take place nearly always before Lent and on 'Shrove Tuesday'.Some people say it is unlucky to get married during the month of May.
A trick that is played on Shrove Tuesday is to send a child to the neighbours houses for a loan of the pancake sieve.
Matches are not made in our district.
