    into linen articles such as shirts and sheets. There were "drugid"quilts made from coarse linen and rough texture. These were all very strong and long lasting.
    When the flax was being "scutched" a number of girls gathered together at a house and scutched the flax for their neighbours. After the day's scutching they would have a dance. These girls were called "a boon of scutchers".
