    on the potatoes in the drills.The people knew nothing of spraying and the potatoes rotted in the ground.In 1847,the same thing happened because the people did not dig up the rotten potatoes out of the ground.
    The year following the seed potatoes were bought from Belgium.These were sown very thickly and they grew well in some districts.
    The people gathered herbs and roots in the field and they also ate grass.
    The people were evicted because they did not pay the rent.
    Great sickness followed the Famine.The people were fever-stricken and sick.
